LPD Lab Services conducts a wide variety of PCB and electronic device and failure investigations.  These applications include:-

• Battery, power pack and transformer charging systems.

• PCB ionic cleanliness measurements by washing and Ion Chromatography.
• Inductor insulation cracking delamination failures.
• Contamination of unknown substances.
• Identification of incorrect solder alloys
• Wire bonding interfacial failures.
• Residual flux from soldering giving corrosion problems in moist applications by SEM and HPLC.
• Variable resistor wiper and contact damage from corrosion and environmental damage in aircraft applications.
• PCB non-ionic contamination investigations and analysis including flux residues, rosins, oils and greases by FTIR .
